Research Team - Reading and Writing Pedagogies in the Digital Culture
HOMEPAGE
Information and communication technologies (ICTs) are increasingly present in different spheres of human life. These technologies, characterized by multimedia, hyper-textuality and interactivity has given rise to what is known as digital culture, which involves values, practices, and expectations about the ways in which people behave and interact in a networked society. The emergence and proliferation of digital and interactive technologies has modified, among other things, the ways of reading and writing as well as how we teach and learn. Therefore, it is necessary to (re) think reading and writing pedagogies as well as the meaning and reach of educational settings in which these literacy practices take place.
MEMBERS
The team is comprised by teachers and researchers from different organizations and educational institutions, with different backgrounds as well as educational and research trajectories. We share a common interest: exploring situated reading and writing pedagogies in dialogue with different technologies and educational levels. Based on these interests, we develop individual and collective educational, research and outreach actions to deepen views on reading, writing and pedagogies in today's technological world.
TRAINING
The members of PLECDi are involved in different initiatives such as courses, seminars, workshops, study groups, and writing clinics that contribute to the scientific, technical and professional development of participants. These spaces offer hands-on experience as well as opportunities for debate and joint reflection.
